Which Online Casino Is Best for Roulette?

Ignition, in our checks. Its Zoom Roulette gives back half of an even-money bet when the ball lands on zero, which cuts the house edge on those bets from 2.70% to 1.35%. Its live American and European tables run from $1 to $3,000 a spin, and its Litecoin payout reached us in 42 minutes. BetOnline publishes the biggest live limits, up to $12,500 a spin on Visionary iGaming tables streamed 24/7.

Two choices matter more than the casino. Play a single-zero wheel, because American roulette costs almost twice as much. And skip the bonus: at 9 of the 15 casinos we checked, roulette counts 5% or less toward the rollover, or nothing at all.

A bet on red covers 18 of the 37 numbers on a European wheel and pays 1 to 1. At $10 a spin for 100 spins you bet $1,000 in all and lose about $27.03 on average. Your chance of being ahead after the last spin: 35.5%. With the half-back rule it would cost about $13.51.

Wheels, limits and bonus rules from each casino's own roulette, help, bonus and live dealer pages, checked 12 October 2026. Costs are long-run averages at each bet's house edge, and the chance of being ahead is worked out exactly for the number of spins you pick, so neither is a prediction. Payout times are our own tests.

Why do so many say “no limits published”? Most casinos only show roulette limits inside the game after you log in. We count a limit only when the casino publishes it on a page anyone can read.

Which Roulette Wheel to Play

The zeros decide what you pay. Here’s the average cost of every $100 you bet on each wheel.

Vulcano RouletteNot publishedBovada: straight ups pay 29 to 1 instead of 35 to 1, with random 50x to 500x multipliers
From each casino’s own roulette and game pages, checked 12 October 2026. House edges are for standard payouts.

The half-back rule only helps red or black, odd or even and high or low. Ignition and Cafe Casino both say you’ll get back half of those bets if the ball lands on zero. Bovada calls its Zoom Roulette the same “Hamburg Variant” but doesn’t state the rule, so check the game’s help screen there. Inside bets cost 2.70% on every single-zero wheel.

Multiplier games trade the standard payout for a shot at a big one. Bovada’s live Flash Roulette offers “multipliers from 50x to 10,000x”, and MyBookie’s Luxury Roulette 500X doesn’t publish its paytable at all. If a game doesn’t publish its return, don’t assume it matches plain European roulette.

Same Cost, Different Ride: Your Chance of Finishing Ahead

Every bet on a European wheel costs the same 2.70% on average. What changes is how often you walk away up.

Exact chances of finishing with more than you started, betting the same amount every spin. Worked out with the same maths as the roulette check above.

Red feels safer, and over 10 spins it does beat a single number. But after 100 spins a straight-up bet finishes ahead 50.9% of the time against 35.5% for red, and after 1,000 spins it’s 45.1% against 18.8%. A single number wins rarely but pays 35 to 1, so one or two hits can carry a whole session. Red wins often but pays even money, so the zero grinds you down. Neither changes what you lose on average.

Want to see it spin by spin? RouletteWhiz, a site that covers nothing but roulette, has a free roulette simulator where you can place any bet on a single-zero wheel with virtual chips, no sign-up needed.

Two casinos contradict themselves. Bovada’s European and American game pages say “You can bet a max of $40,000 on the table”, while its Zoom page stops at $500. Ignition’s Zoom page gives both a $3 and a $1 minimum. Treat any published limit as a guide and check the table before you bet. Big bettors should also read our high roller casinos guide.

Roulette and Bonuses: Why They Rarely Mix

This is where roulette players lose the most without noticing. We read every casino’s bonus terms for roulette.

CasinoHow roulette countsAlso

From each casino’s own bonus terms, FAQs and welcome-offer pages, checked 12 October 2026.

Here’s what 5% means in practice. Cafe Casino’s crypto bonus is 300% with a 40x rollover on the deposit plus bonus. Deposit $100, get $300, and you owe $16,000 of wagering. At 5%, that’s $320,000 of roulette bets, which would cost about $8,650 on average on a European wheel, all to unlock a $300 bonus. Bovada even gives the maths: “Wager $500 on Roulette and $25 or 5% contributes towards rollover requirements.”

If roulette is why you’re joining, deposit without a bonus. If you want a bonus anyway, clear it on slots, then move to the wheel with cash. Our casino promo codes page lists every current code.

Betting Systems: What the Table Limits Do to the Martingale

Doubling after every loss wins your first bet back, until a losing streak runs into the table maximum.

Starting bet and tableTable maximumLosses in a row that end itChance in 100 roundsLoss when it hits
$1 on red, BetOnline’s help-centre limit$250838.4%$255
$5 on red, the $500 table in Ignition’s own example$500761.2%$635
$5 on red, live tables at Ignition and Cafe Casino$3,0001012.0%$5,115
$10 on red, MyBookie’s European Roulette$14,000116.3%$20,470
$1 on red, BetOnline’s live American tables$12,500141.2%$16,383
Each round ends with a win of the starting bet or a losing streak too long to double again. European wheel unless stated. Our own maths, using each casino’s published maximum.

Ignition’s own roulette guide makes the same point: “it would only take seven consecutive losses to go over the table maximum of $500”. Bovada, Ignition, Cafe Casino and Slots.lv also list “Using any betting system or placing even money bets on any game of chance” as prohibited play while a bonus is active, so a system can cost you the bonus as well.

No progression changes the house edge. Doubling up only changes how you lose: lots of small wins, then one big loss when a losing streak runs into the table maximum.

Live Roulette or Software Roulette?

  • Live roulette spins a real wheel on a stream. BetOnline runs Visionary iGaming tables 24/7, Bovada names Gold Tier Games, and Cafe Casino’s live tables are open 24/7. It’s slower, and at most casinos we checked, live roulette is real money only or counts nothing toward a bonus.
  • Software roulette is faster and has the special rules: Zoom Roulette’s half-back rule, La Partage Roulette de Lux, and multiplier games like Vulcano. It also has the lowest stakes, from $0.10 at MyBookie.
  • Auto Roulette is a live wheel without a dealer. Ignition, BetOnline and Cherry Gold all list one.

For dealers, studios and limits on every live game, see our live dealer casinos guide.

How We Checked These Casinos

On 12 October 2026 we read each casino’s roulette and game pages, help articles, live dealer pages, bonus terms and welcome offers, and noted every wheel, limit and rule with its source. Most games only show limits once you log in, so we only count limits a casino publishes publicly. Where a casino’s pages disagree, as BetOnline’s bonus rules and Bovada’s table maximums do, we say so.

The costs and chances in the roulette check and the tables above are exact maths for standard payouts, not estimates. Payout times are our own timed withdrawals, listed on our instant withdrawal casinos page. We earn a commission if you sign up through our links. It doesn’t change the ranking.

Online Roulette FAQ

What is the best online roulette casino?

Ignition, in our checks. Its Zoom Roulette gives back half of an even-money bet on zero, its live tables run from $1 to $3,000 a spin, and it paid us in 42 minutes. BetOnline has the biggest live limits, up to $12,500.

Which roulette game has the best odds?

A single-zero wheel with the half-back rule, at 1.35% on even-money bets. You’ll find it as Zoom Roulette at Ignition and Cafe Casino and as La Partage Roulette de Lux at Red Dog and Cherry Gold.

Is European roulette better than American roulette?

Yes. European has one zero and a 2.70% house edge; American adds a double zero and costs 5.26%. At $10 a spin for 100 spins, that’s about $27.03 against $52.63 on average.

Which online casino has the highest roulette limits?

MyBookie’s European Roulette by Fresh Deck goes up to $14,000 a spin, and BetOnline’s live American tables up to $12,500.

What is the lowest minimum bet for online roulette?

MyBookie’s Luxury Roulette 500X starts at $0.10. BetOnline’s live tables and MyBookie’s European Roulette start at $0.50.

Can I use a casino bonus on roulette?

You can at some casinos, but it rarely pays. Roulette counts 5% at Bovada, Ignition, Cafe Casino and Slots.lv, and it’s excluded or doesn’t count at Cherry Jackpot, Slots Ninja, Roaring 21, Cherry Gold and Sloto’Cash.

Does the Martingale system work?

No. It wins small amounts until a losing streak hits the table maximum. At a $500 table starting at $5, a seven-loss streak ends it, and there’s a 61.2% chance of one in 100 rounds.

What is the half-back or La Partage rule?

When the ball lands on zero, you get back half of any even-money bet instead of losing all of it. That halves the house edge on those bets to 1.35%.

Which roulette bet should I avoid?

The five-number bet on an American wheel (0, 00, 1, 2 and 3). It costs 7.89%, more than any other bet on the table.

Is live roulette better than online roulette?

Live roulette spins a real wheel with a dealer and is slower. Software roulette is faster, has the half-back and multiplier games, and lower minimums. The house edge depends on the wheel, not the format.

Can I play roulette on my phone?

Yes. Cafe Casino says its live roulette works on a phone or tablet with no app, and BetOnline says its live roulette is fully playable on mobile.

Are online roulette casinos legal in the US?

The casinos on this page are offshore and aren’t licensed by any US state. Federal law targets gambling businesses rather than players, but Washington makes online gambling a crime for players too. Check your own state’s rules.

Our Pick for Roulette

Ignition for half-back Zoom Roulette and the fastest payout we’ve had, BetOnline for the biggest live tables, and Cafe Casino for Zoom plus live roulette open 24/7. Whichever you choose, play a single-zero wheel, leave the bonus for slots, and set a loss limit before you sit down.

Need to talk to someone?

The National Problem Gambling Helpline offers free, confidential support by call, text and chat at 1-800-MY-RESET. Roulette is fast, so set a limit on time as well as money.

18+ or 21+ depending on the casino. These casinos are offshore and aren’t licensed by any US state. Wheels, limits and bonus rules change, so check the game and the cashier before you deposit. You can lose your whole deposit.
